“Malai Malai” reminded me a lot like “Dhool”, the pacing was right, it’s just that the encounters between Arun and prakash raj should have been spicier. oh yeah the unnecesary sentiment towards the end nearly made me puke. a miscalculated ending.
By the way balaji, ur still 30 movies short of achiving the 800th mark. i hope before the end of the year u can cross it.
Seems fair but I would have out Kanthaswamy up to 2.5 * for the packagaing, and I do think your decision to make it only 1.5 is the blip of the year so far.
Anthony Yaar was a bad,bad film, so I thot maybe half a star at best. Malai Malai maybe 2 star as well
And please can we have a post about ratings soon….
Kandhasamy was really bad. I dont know what Susi Ganeshan was thinking. When Vikram came as the super Hero at the start of the movie, it looked like a spoof rather than a serious movie. It has been packaged well but it was style (or no style) over substance.
A little unrelated here.. but yours and my wish for Kandasamy to fail has not happened (or so it appears so far!): http://sify.com/movies/tamil/fullstory.php?id=14907690.. *sigh*
skanda, almost every movie where the hero clashes with a powerful guy reminds us of ‘Dhool’! and yeah, miscalculated is the right word for that ending.
30 movies in 4 months sounds a bit too much. we’ll see
Namitha, for me packaging is always only the icing on the cake. For ‘Kandhasamy’, the cake tasted pretty bad. ‘Malai Malai’ was a solid two star till the climax. No arguments about ‘Anthony Yaar’. Could’ve gone either way
Giri, absolutely no argument there
Sandya, this was kinda expected based on the hype. after all, its been just a week and the 1st week was sold out just in advance bookings. but the success meet and the things they said show us that the bad reviews did rattle them
